Flights to Cyprus 'getting a revamp'

Holidaymakers booking flights to Cyprus in the future may find themselves travelling in more style than previously, as Cyprus Airways is selling an old aircraft for €4.6 million (£4 million).
As part of plans to renew its fleet, the company announced to the Cyprus Stock Exchange that Phoenix Aircraft Malaysia Sdn Bhd would be buying an Airbus A320 - a plane that can carry 143 passengers in economy class and 25 in business - Reuters reports.
The national carrier for the country's convoy includes 11 such aircrafts, but it signed a letter of intent with the aforementioned organisation on April 6th that will see the airbus removed from the flight plan.
This comes after Travel Weekly reported that Tim Jeans, managing director of Monarch Airlines, stated that flights for holidays in Cyprus are growing in popularity, particularly mid-haul trips which are in "strong demand".
For March, official figures for the company revealed an 87 per cent load, four per cent higher than the same time in 2009.
