New flights to Santorini

British-based airline Monarch has announced that it is introducing new flights to the Greek Islands this summer.
New weekly services will be brought in from Gatwick and Manchester to Santorini, with flights available to book now.
The flights will run every Tuesday between May 5th and October 5th, it reports, with prices starting from around £160 return, inclusive of taxes and charges.
Monarch already operates scheduled and chartered flights to Greece from a number of UK airports, including Birmingham, London, Gatwick, London Luton and Manchester.
Santorini is famed for having "the best sunsets in the world", according to the airline, boasting a blend of scenery, white washed villages and historical sites and monuments.
"Combined with dramatic black sand beaches and sophisticated nightlife, this stunning island is one of the most famous holiday destinations in Greece and provides the perfect location for that dream Greek getaway," it adds.
The offer of extra flights could be welcoming news to many Brits, following research that reveals more people are choosing to ditch the 'staycation' and head abroad.
The survey by Lloyds TSB found that 60 per cent of Britons plan to head overseas for their main holiday this year, with more than 60 per cent choosing to holiday in European destinations such as Greece.
