'Sample local fast food' on Greek holidays

Whether staying on a quiet Greek island or having a large one on holiday in Lesvos, it is certain that travellers will grow hungry after their vacationing exploits, in which case sampling snacks from some of the street vendors could be a good idea.
According to Suite 101, these can be found all over the country and, instead of selling greasy fast food, they offer healthy options known as kolatsio.
Those that are adventurous enough to give it a go will be able to choose from spanakopitta - a cheese and spinach pie - tiropitta, roasted chestnuts, seeds, nuts and koulouria, which are bread rings covered in sesame seeds.
Carnivores will also find their tastes catered for in the form of souvlakia - cubed lamb or pork - and gyros - similar to doner kebabs.
However, meal times should not be neglected and the Washington Post recently outlined a few restaurants to visit while on Greek holidays .
Psiri Square in Athens received a mention for its traditional fare, while Santorini's Grill House Stavros emits a "wonderful" smell.
