Greek island beaches 'among the world's best'

A holiday to Skiathos could allow holidaymakers to experience some of the best beaches in the world.
Writing for Helium, Francis Harris suggested that the Greek islands in general represent some of the finest choices in the world for those looking for a coastal retreat.
He explained that Europe boasts a great deal of variety, but the Mediterranean is the warmest and sandiest of the options available.
Those planning a Greek island summer holiday will find that they tend to be sparsely populated, said Mr Harris, meaning they are perhaps "the best destination if you want sun and sand without the crowds and pollution".
"Greece has a special history and a deep, blue sea that you will fall in love with," the author concluded.
A recent Daily Telegraph article encouraged tourists to head to Koukounaries Beach on Skiathos, which was described as a one-mile stretch of sand that is family-oriented and is among the best the island has to offer.
