How to choose the best Greek Island to suit your summer holiday

It is great to hear that the Greek Islands remain in the top summer destinations slot for holidays, probably due to the gorgeous sandy beaches, hot mediterranean climate and friendly islanders welcome. But with so many different islands to choose from, how do you decide which one is right for you?
Here is our quick guide to our favourite places-
Best for beach holidays - Zante, Kefalonia, Skiathos, Santorini and Crete. Some of the best sandy beaches can be found on these islands.
Best for off the beaten track- Skopelos, Alonissos and Paxos are undoubtedly the hidden gems. Traditional with no mass market tourism and with no direct airport, these islands are perfect for escapism.
Best for historical and geological interest - Crete, Kefalonia and Corfu. Crete has a long held history in Greek Mythology and legend. Kefalonia has amazing underground lakes and caves. Corfu has a coloured and impressive regal history and the Old Town in Corfu is an National Heritage site.
Best for family holidays - Zante, Corfu, Kefalonia and Crete
With gorgeous and easily accessible sandy beaches, water parks and interesting sight seeing. These islands have plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained.
