Enjoy a Mediterranean diet during Mykonos holidays

Those taking holidays in Mykonos have an opportunity to sample the Mediterranean diet as it is supposed to be enjoyed.
According to the Washington Examiner, as many as a third of residents on many Greek islands live beyond their 90th birthdays, a phenomenon attributed to their famed diets.
Holidaymakers will be able to enjoy vibrant dishes with rich and varied textures, consisting primarily of fruit, vegetables, beans and olive oil.
Seafood lovers will also discover plenty of amazing meals on their travels, while no Greek dinner would be complete without a glass of delicious local wine to wash it down.
The newspaper also noted the health benefits of using olive oil, nuts and wholegrains as opposed to large amounts of processed foods.
"Not only will it taste good, the good fats pamper your heart and help your body absorb more of the carotenoids and other nutrients in cooked veggies and in salad greens," it explained.
One fan of the Mykonos diet is actress Laura Gray, who told the Telegraph that the island served up a "delicious experience" during her recent trip.
"Food in Mykonos is divine and every day I had Greek salad with yoghurt, garlic and cucumber. It was heaven," she said.
