Mountain biking could be an interesting holiday option for those holidaying on the Greek island of Skopelos who enjoy active, adventure-packed getaways.
With more than half of the location's surface covered in hills and forests, sport enthusiasts could find many trails taking them to privileged vantage points to take in the views.
Some of the paths lead past spots of archaeological interest such as abbeys and along coastlines, so it may be a great way to sight-see as well.
Visiting small villages - that may be out of the way for other tourists who remain near their island villa - could also be a choice method for witnessing authentic Greek lifestyle and contemporary culture.
A challenging ride up and down the lush hills of what some call Greece's greenest island might make that dip in the crystal-clear sea that much more delicious for being well earned.
Writer for the Expeditioner Andy Boxall recommended scaling Delphi, one of the holiday destination's many mountains.
He said riders could expect to come across many varieties of wildlife.
"The views from the mountain peaks overlooking the island to the sapphire-coloured sea aren't half bad either," Mr Boxall added.
