There are many things to do in Zante, but one of the more educational options may be the natural history museum.
People on holidays in Zante are bound to see the beautiful beaches and rich environment, but the Museum of Natural History can explain the intricate details of the flowers, animals and fossils that populate it.
Museum secretary Mavra Vythoulka told greeka.com that the museum, which is placed in the mountain village of Agia Marina, has had its own site since 2006 and is surrounded by a garden and forest.
It was founded by Panagiotis Helmis, who first demonstrated his interest in the natural environment when he began collecting shells as a ten-year-old.
To appreciate Zante's wildlife even more on a Greek holiday, Diving Centre Turtle Beach suggests looking out for the small shelled creatures in their natural habitat.
Visitors may be able to see the sea turtle caretta in Limni Keriou, at the south point of the island, diving into the water.
