Skiathos seaside 'marvellous'

The Sporades have been praised by a travel writer - and the Greek island holiday destination of Skiathos has been noted for its seaside.
Pedro Antunes Pereira, writing for Portuguese newspaper the Jornal de Noticias about the island chain, said the water around this small green island was so clear one could see divers exploring ship wreckage and coral reefs.
"The marinas are of a limpid blue with patches of green scattered throughout the bay," he added.
Skiathos' countryside is protected from the wind that batters some of the other islands - one effect of the river valleys there.
As part of a tour of the Sporades, holidaymakers can access the island with a 15-minute ferry ride from Skopelos, called "an island of culture" by the author.
Writing for the Telegraph, Paul Mansfield reported that the Sporadic islands had remained relatively unchanged since Hollywood brought the production of Meryl Streep's movie Mamma Mia! to the island.
Mr Mansfield reported finding Skopelos - "reminiscent of Santorini".
