'Try local wines' on holiday in Greece

Wine connoisseurs heading off on a holiday in Greece have been advised to sample not just the local culinary delights but also the drink.
Rather than choosing to have a foreign import, Jonathan Ray wrote in an article for the Daily Telegraph that it is a good idea to try the local offerings.
The writer recounted a holiday in which he selected a wine produced in the nearby region and discovered it to be "absolutely delicious".
He described "hitting the bullseye" with the tipple, which was made only an hour-and-a-half away from where he was dining.
Wine enthusiasts were encouraged to try out bottles made at farms located in areas near to where they are vacationing, as they too could well be pleasantly surprised.
Vineyards can be seen on the Ionian island of Corfu, with red grapes predominantly grown on the north of the isle and white varieties dominating in the south.
