Those considering going on a Greek island holiday to Kefalonia may want to add Fiskardo to their list of must-see destinations.
A Venetian village on the northern tip of the location could attract visitors with its colourful tavernas and gentle lifestyle rhythm.
One reviewer on Dooyoo.co.uk called it "the prettiest settlement on the island" and "full of character".
The commentator especially enjoyed the bustling, authentic harbour and the "gorgeous blue" of the sea.
UK artist Patsy Earnshaw has described a trip to Fiskardo on her blog.
She enjoyed going to Foki beach - a secluded cove bordered by olive trees, as well as oak and cypress groves. The adventurous might want to explore the nearby caves as well.
The painter noted there where many nice locations at walking distance from the village.
Possible hikes could include the rocky coastline between Fiskardo and Emblisi, which Ms Earnshaw described as pleasantly shaded and curiously evocative of the English countryside.
Otherwise, travellers could enjoy traipsing through the strawberry trees and evergreen forests overlooking "crystal clear waters" on the way to Antipata.
