Go back in time during holidays in Zante by visiting some of the island's historic cultural sites.
The Romas mansion in Zante town offers holiday makers a taste of how the aristocracy of the island used to live, claims travel writer Heather Cowper.
Writing on tipsfromthetlist.com, Ms Cowper states that the mansion was built in the 1660s and is one of the few buildings to have survived the 1953 earthquake and fire that destroyed Zante town.
"The house has now been restored and opened by the Romas family who still live there and is full of beautiful antique furniture and family portraits, giving you a glimpse of how the wealthy Greek families lived in that era," she said.
The Venetian Fort overlooking Zante town was also a site not to be missed, with the terrace below the castle being a prime spot for an evening drink at sunset.
The view over the bay "is as spectacular as ever" added Ms Cowper.
Holiday makers should also aim to visit the island's trademark, Shipwreck Cove, which is renowned for being one of the most famous beaches in Greece.
