'Avoid credit card charges' while on holiday in Greece

People preparing for their Greek holiday have been advised to shop around for the best credit card deals.
The Post Office has warned that some can charge large commissions for using plastic while abroad.
It recommended looking for the best deals on overseas transactions and checking what costs will be incurred if the card is used.
Individuals who are unaware of their credit providers stipulations could discover "hidden charges which may prove costly" when they return.
The organisation referred to a report published by the UK Cards Association and Abta - the travel association that noted overseas spending on plastic has increased by 180 per cent over the last decade.
People spent £17.7 billion on foreign transactions in 2009 and £7.8 billion was taken out of cash machines, the study found.
It was suggested by moneysupermarket.com that travellers use prepaid cards when on vacation as they can prevent people going over their budget.
