'Check suitcase weight' before going on holiday

People heading off on a holiday to the Greek Islands have been advised to carry out a number of checks before they set off, which could make their trip less stressful.
Writing for the McClatchy-Tribune News Service, Mary Ann Anderson explained how taking the time to pack a number of essential items could reduce any unwanted hassles while abroad.
Her first recommendation was for individuals to invest in lightweight suitcases, so they can pack more in without going over the allotted baggage allowance.
Once travellers have decided on their luggage of choice, an important tip to remember is to place liquids in sealed bags, she stated.
"Too many times I've heard horror stories about liquids exploding in luggage. Anything that can leak or spill, like shampoo or olive oil, goes into the bags," Ms Anderson said.
Elsewhere, travel expert Bob Atkinson from Moneysupermarket.com recently reinforced the importance of having a valid European Health Insurance Card before embarking on a vacation in Europe, the Daily Telegraph reported.
