'Simple measures' can prevent illness on holiday in Greece

People on holiday in Greece may be encouraged to take sun cream after one writer claimed simple measures such as this can prevent illness while on vacation.
This was the advice given to those due to jet off on a vacation by Katerina Nikolas in an article for Helium.
She described how people can prevent problems by taking precautionary measures such as wearing sun cream and using mosquito repellent.
"Most of the common things which befall travellers are due to too much sun, burns, bites and tummy bugs from less hygienic water or food than they are used to," the writer explained.
Staying hydrated and spending time in the shade can help reduce the chance of heatstroke and burning, Ms Nikolas commented, while resisting the urge to scratch bites was advised.
In case of illness while abroad, individuals are encouraged to take a European Health Insurance Card with them as it entitles people to some aspects of free medical care in certain countries.
