Aegean Airlines accepted into Star Alliance

Star Alliance has accepted Aegean Airlines into its network meaning that the organisation now offers more flights to and from Greece, which may be of interest to people planning a holiday in the country.
With the airline now part of the system it means the company now covers more than 1,500 flights in and out of the country and to 17 domestic destinations.
Jaan Albrecht, chief executive office Star Alliance, said: "For alliance members, Greece is an important travel market where Athens can be built into a major hub airport with growing connection traffic."
Adding that the newly accepted airline will bring great experience and help Greece become an important feature in the south-east European region.
The MTC Group and the Polytechnic of Crete recently revealed that 88 per cent of foreign nationals were satisfied by their visit to the island of Mykonos in part because of the climate and natural beauty, the Athens News Agency reported.
