People embarking on holidays in Greece this summer can expect to get value for money, the country's tourism minister has stated.
Angela Gerekou, culture and tourism minister, said although the country has been portrayed somewhat negatively in the media as of late, this was not going to impact holidaymakers.
The minister told travelmole.com that tourism in Greece "is not affected by the much publicised economic and labour difficulties but, on the contrary, these problems have allowed Greece to become more attractive to the visitor".
Prices have been falling for some time, Ms Gerekou added, therefore holidaymakers can expect to benefit.
Further investment in infrastructure is also planned, with 20 new marinas to be built along with a new congress centre for Athens and continuing investment in hotels, the website reports.
Meanwhile, the Post Office's annual Holiday Costs Barometer reports that prices are down in all seven eurozone countries.
