People who enjoy going on holiday in Athens may soon be rewarded for the time spent in the region, as the government has announced it could reduce visa expenses for loyal tourists.
Citizens of the Ukraine, the US, Russia, China and countries in the Middle East could be spending less in this way in the future, BalkanTravellers reports.
A recent meeting between the minister of culture and tourism, Pavlos Geroulanos and deputy foreign minister Dimitris Droutsas saw this proposal discussed.
Mr Geroulanos, however, did not make any predictions regarding tourism in Greece for the next 12 months, only saying: "With our actions we will be able to stop the enormous decrease of last year."
Traveldailynews.com recently reported that holidays in Greece are to be promoted via a new online campaign, reusing old footage and bearing the caption 'Kalimera', which means 'good morning' in Greek.
