How to get a cheap holiday in Greece

Opting for a seven or 14-day holidays in Greece can be an ideal way to get some last minute sun at a bargain price, according to one specialist.
GMTV's money saving expert Martin Lewis gave travellers advice on how to bag a late deal on trips abroad.
He explained how booking with a specialist who can offer accommodation, flights and car hire together can sometimes reduce the cost of jetting off on vacation as they can offer discounts for the package.
Another holiday tip was for people to set a firm budget on how much they wish to spend and then avoid straying from it by only considering places within their price range.
Different times of the year can mean better deals or more expensive options, so it is worth being flexible, Mr Lewis commented. His tip is to seek under-occupancy discounts, for example if you a a couple looking to stay out of season in a larger private villa. Many of these properties are less in demand outside the peak school holiday season. Finally, consider holidays of 7 or 14 nights as these fit with the majority of flight schedules. 10 night holidays tend to be more expensive as tour operators are set up to offer holidays in week long durations.
Una Farrell, media relations manager for the Consumer Credit Counselling Service, recently warned holidaymakers that it is wiser to save up money before splashing out on a vacation, rather than getting into debt.
