Set above the beautiful Vamvakies beach fishermans cottage boasts splendid views and easy access to a gorgeous pebble beach.
This beautiful cottage is made entirely of local stone and blends perfectly with the surrounding countryside. Steps from the veranda lead to a steep path (75m approx) to the pebbly beach of Vamvakies where you’ll find a small pier, convenient for mooring a rented boat - a must to explore the many small beaches and coves along this coastline.
Fishermans Cottages features open wood-beamed ceilings that create a warm, homely atmosphere and an open-plan design that includes a fully equipped kitchen with breakfast table and a comfortably furnished living room, all decorated in the traditional island style. From the living area there are doors leading to a WC/shower room and a bedroom with a double bed and sea facing windows.
By the far the best feature of this nicely-presented cottage are the stunning views of the sea and neighbouring islands. The veranda is furnished with dining table and chairs and is the perfect spot to enjoy these fabulous views. The cottage is reached by a narrow foot path approximately 100 metres from the main road.
Fisherman's Cottage makes a perfect romantic get-away and delightful setting to relax and unwind.
Fisherman’s Cottage is bordered by olive groves and from its hillside position, looks out across the sea toward the deserted island of Peristera and the national Marine Park of Greece. It is close to the small fishing hamlet of Kalamakia and a short boat ride brings you to traditional quayside tavernas that specialise in local cuisine. The charming fishing village of Steni Vala with a waterfront lined with fish tavernas is a 10 minute drive to the south.
There is a small beach at Steni Vala as well as a mini-market for most essentials. A further 20 minute drive from Steni Vala, is the main port town of Patitiri. A 15 minute drive towards the North will take you to Agios Dimitrios, one of the best beaches on the island.
The fact that there is no airport on Alonissos can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
