A family run hotel in pretty Batsi that's a firm favourite with returning Perfect Blue Holidays customers

Situated just a ten minute walk from the lovely harbour of Batsi and its range of tavernas bars and shops is the small upmarket Aneroussa Beach Hotel. Set in extensive gardens that run directly down to the sandy beach, this charming family run hotel has only 30 rooms, all of which boast a magnificent sea view.

The spacious rooms are all air conditioned and offer a choice of either a double or two single beds, there are also two suites suitable for four people available on request.

The stylish rooms are comfortably furnished and each has its own fridge and modern bathroom fitted with a shower, basin and w.c. French doors lead directly out onto a balcony overlooking the sea. Breakfast (which is included in the price) is served on the hotel's shady open air terrace which again has wonderful views.

It is just a short walk down steps to the sea where you have a choice of three sandy beaches, one of which has a beach bar where drinks and snacks are available. There are also two local tavernas within a couple of minutes walk whose peaceful setting is perfect for a quiet lunch or dinner.

Location

Batsi, Andros

The resort of Batsi sits in a large bay with a golden sand beach lapped by crystal clear aquamarine waters. The picturesque town climbs haphazardly up from the little fishing harbour and is an attractive jumble of whitewashed houses with red roofs and mazy back streets with shady little squares.

About a three minute drive beyond Batsi is Aghios Marina, which is a beautiful rural area with a choice of lovely sandy beaches and excellent beach side tavernas that specialise in fresh fish dishes. Everything here is low key and provides an ideal environment for relaxing and recharging your batteries. If you are feeling more energetic there is excellent walking in the pine and herb scented countryside that forms the back drop to the quiet beaches that fringe the coast line here.

We have chosen properties specifically in this location to give you a wonderful combination of this quieter more relaxing way to spend your days, combined with the advantages of having Batsi and its many excellent restaurants, cafes and bars available to you in the evening.

How To Get There

The absence of an airport on Andros has helped ensure the island retains much of its original charm. Andros is reached via a flight to Athens and then a ferry crossing (max. 2 hours) from the port of Rafina.

Direct flights to Athens from the UK depart from Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Luton and Manchester and are offered by:

The port of Rafina is just a 30 minute drive from Athens Airport. For those choosing not to hire a car from Athens there is a reliable bus service between the airport and the port of Rafina.

Perfect Blue Holidays offer a full travel service including flights, car hire and private taxi transfers as well as apartments, hotels and villas on an accommodation-only basis.

A little gem with fantastic view of the beach/sea (August 2010)
Great place, lovely rooms (July 2010)
We loved the Annerousa Beach Hotel. Maria and her staff were very welcoming. (May 2010)
Aneroussa Beach Hotel was superb - the best we have stayed at in Greece. Maria, the owner, is lovely and very caring, and the level of service is second to none. It was situated in a prime spot with a lovely beach below. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to everyone. We will certainly go there again. (September 2009)

Aneroussa Beach Hotel was beautiful with a very nice friendly atmosphere. Each guest was made to feel important and nothing was too much trouble. The setting was great - out of town but within easy walking distance, and practically on the beach. (July 2009)
The pictures on the website didn't lie - Aneroussa Beach Hotel was gorgeous. Stylish without being too grand, with beautiful gardens and not too far into Batsi. All the staff were helpful and friendly. (June 2009)
The staff at the hotel, especially the Manageress Maria, were fantastic - as was the view from our room. (September 2008)
A very well maintained hotel. Maria, the manager, was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and she was always very helpful and thoughtful. (September 2008)

Batsi, Andros ...

Quiet and peaceful (August 2010)
Far enough from the town to be peaceful but still near enough to access good restaurants (July 2010)
Batsi was a beautiful, relaxing and friendly resort. (September 2009)
The location was quiet, peaceful and very near some excellent tavernas. (September 2009)
The setting of the Aneroussa Beach Hotel in Batsi was lovely and quiet. (May 2009)
No British-style pubs, no rowdy clubs or hoards of typical holiday makers. Just the wonderful, unchanged landscape of a traditional Greek island. (September 2008)
The hotel was in an excellent position with balconies on all rooms overlooking the sea. It was an easy walk to nearest village, Batsi, and in a quiet and peaceful setting. (September 2008)
Wonderful setting. It was quiet but we had the beach and somewhere good to eat within 2 mins of leaving our room. (June 2008)
The best location on Andros! Being able to walk into Batsi to eat was great. (June 2008)
Very quiet, green surroundings with lots of plants and trees. On a lovely beach but an easy walk into town. Great taverna and beach bar on the doorstep. Perfect sunsets. (June 2008)

Hints, Tips and Local Information

If you do not have a car you need to use the taxi service which was ok (August 2010)
This may not be a suitable choice for children or the elderly. (July 2009)
The visit to Hora (the Capital) should not be missed - we did it twice on the bus which worked very well and was hassle free. (July 2009)
We were a little surprised to discover that part of the beach is given over to nudists!
(June 2008)
A car is useful for exploring the island. (June 2008)
The taverna 'The Waves' in the next bay along served fantastic local dishes in a beautiful setting and the owner was very friendly. Try to visit Andros Hora if you can - the old town is very atmospheric (mornings are best when everything is open). (June 2008)
