Mandarin Cottage is a beautiful renovation of an old stone Cretan House dating back over 100 years. It has been very tastefully restored and offers excellent facilities. An ideal retreat for couples especially celebrating a special occasion. It is semi detached to our next door cottage - Lavender Cottage and offers wonderful views to the mountains opposite.
For larger families or couples wishing to stay close to each other - the 2 cottages may be rented together.
The Cottage has a full range of equipment to make your life easier and to reduce the weight of your suitcase!!!
The interior is light and airy offering modern + comfortable furnishings.
On the ground floor, the kitchen is fully equipped with full cooker, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, fridgefreezer, toaster, kettle, coffee filter and other such gadgets for an easy life. There is a dining table with seating for 4 and plenty of space as you go through the an open doorway which leads to the living room.
The cosy living room has atmospheric lighting and provides varied entertainment equipment and comfortable sofas to relax. There is a wood burning stove for cooler months, flat screen SAT TV with DVD player. The CD player also has an iPod adapter. The wrought iron stairway leads to the master bedroom.
1st Floor - The spacious master bedroom has a queen size 4 poster bed, ensuite bathroom, jacuzzi and air-conditioning. There is also a large balcony with table and chairs which offers an amazing view over the countryside and to the mountains.
All rooms have stone walls that keep the rooms cool in the summer and warmer during the winter months.
Within the pretty enclosed garden there is a shared swimming pool and garden. There are enough sun loungers for both cottages and cosy areas with tables and chairs. Mandarin Cottage has its own BBQ for private use.

Chania Airport (Crete) - there are flights departing from Birmingham, Gatwick, Manchester and Newcastle on Tuesdays.
Daily flights to Crete are available from Athens Airport.

The palace of Knossos is a must see attraction of Crete, unfortunately in high season it can also be hot and crowded. So be sure to take a bottle of water in with you. The informative signs are good, however an informative guide really can make the resort come alive.
Samaria Gorge is one of the Natioanl Parks of Greece and the only one in Crete. It starts at an altitude of 1227m at Xyloskalo near the village of Omalos (70km from Chania) and ends afer an 18km walk to the beach at the village of Agia Roumeli on the south coast of Crete.
