Villa Cragus is located a short drive from the bustling resort of Gouves, in a quiet elevated position.
From the electric gated entrance the driveway leads to the parking area and pool level and from here steps lead up to the front of the property. Once inside you cannot help but be impressed by the furniture, fittings and general opulence of this lovely villa. The open plan living/dining/kitchen is out of a glossy magazine. The main lounge has large flat screen TV (limited satellite channels), DVD, music centre and feature fireplace, whilst the dining area is beautifully furnished for 8 persons. The kitchen is fitted with dishwasher, large American style fridge/freezer and built in microwave. Doors from here lead to a side patio with Kleftico oven, barbeque and steps continue down to the pool terrace.
From the lounge, stairs lead down to a wonderful recreational area and second smaller lounge. Here is found the Jacuzzi hot tub, sauna, running machine and 'multi gym' and patio doors lead out onto the pool terrace. Off from the lounge also is a double bedded room (two beds together) and this has shower room en-suite and patio doors to the pool.
Also from the main lounge area stairs lead up to the main bedroom accommodation. This consists of two pretty double bedrooms each with shower room en-suite and patio doors onto a small rear terrace. The gracious master double bedroom has windows overlooking the front of the property with spectacular views over open countryside to the sea in the distance, as well as patio doors to the rear terrace. This suite enjoys a very pretty full family bathroom, with small bath, and shower above.
Every bedroom has a portable TV, which is linked to the main system.
A further flight of stairs lead up from the bedroom accommodation to a balcony overlooking the pool and 180 degree views over the surrounding area, a perfect place for that private sunbathing. The stairs then continue up to the "jewel in the crown", which is a large games lounge and bar area with leather suites, flat screen TV, pool table, two authentic card tables and finally a shower room with WC. Large windows run the length of this room, which enjoys wonderful views from all angles.
Outside the lovely 8 metre pool is accessed via a ladder and is surrounded by spacious well furnished sun terraces for sitting, relaxing and soaking up the sun. There is a table tennis table located here for your added enjoyment.
Gouves has an excellent range of shops, bars, tavernas and restaurants. There is also a harbour and small marina for berthing boats and for the hiring of pleasure craft.
There are three small sandy beaches ideal for families although care must be taken on windy days as there can be a strong undercurrent. At such times there will be a warning flag. Water sports are available from these beaches and wind surfing is a popular pastime.
Gouves is well endowed with tavernas, restaurants and bars where you can find a wide choice of menu.

The palace of Knossos is a must see attraction of Crete, unfortunately in high season it can also be hot and crowded. So be sure to take a bottle of water in with you. The informative signs are good, however an informative guide really can make the resort come alive.
