Approached by stone steps, each of the attractive studios has a private stone- built terrace with a built-in seating area. From here, the views out to the bay of Otzias and across the sea are mesmerising.
The front door is glass-panelled to allow maximum light into the bright and sunny main room. There are two studios - the first with a double and 2 single beds and the second with two single beds. Both studios are furnished with bedside tables, a wardrobe, occasional tables and two chairs.
There is also a separate kitchenette that is equipped with a hob, fridge and wide range of crockery, cutlery and utensils. The modern bathroom is fitted with a shower, basin and WC.
A quiet costal village with a beautiful beach set in the north of Kea, the simple and unspoilt charm of Otzias makes it a popular - yet still completely uncommercialised - destination for visitors to this wonderful island.
Its pristine beach has got to be one of the best on Kea. Around 700 magnificent metres of sand and shingle lapped by calm, clear waters and bordered by salt trees and lush, green hills. There are a number of thatched beach umbrellas here, providing some welcome shade, but little else except the sun, the sand, and the sea.
Behind the beach is a traditional taverna that is renowned for the quality and freshness of their fish and indeed reputed to be the best fish restaurant on the whole island. Just beyond the beach there is another, equally good and slightly more upmarket taverna which we can also highly recommend.
With its combination of good food, a great beach and its proximity to the yacht harbour of Voukari, which has several more good restaurants, tavernas and shops to offer, Otzias is a superb place to stay if you want to be by the beach - but don't want to share it with the masses.
There is something reallly special about arriving on a Greek island by boat and this particularly applies to the island of Kea. The ferry only takes an hour and departs from the port of Lavrio on the mainland, which is an easy forty minute drive down the main highway from Athens airport.
There are plenty of direct flights to Athens from the UK and it is approximately a 3 hour journey. You can fly direct from Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Luton and Manchester. Carriers include:

Kea's most popular sight is probably the Lion of kea, also called Lionidas. This is an imposing archaic sculpture of the lion that according to mythology chaesed away the nymphs of the island, causing many ravages. The story tells this lion was sent by the gods, because they were jealous of Kea's beauty.
