A unique, extremely private dwelling, the Cavo is set in one of the more tranquil areas of Kea. The Cavo is in an elevated position and has gorgeous, sweeping views from its terrace out across the entire bay. The golden sandy beach and two excellent tavernas are only a few minutes' walk away.
This intriguing little house gets its name from the fact that one side is constructed entirely from natural rock, giving it a wonderfully atmospheric feel. It has been furnished in a simple, traditional style, although modern touches such as air-conditioning will ensure your comfort.
You will find a lovely open fireplace and a built-in sofa in the lounge area. If required, the sofa can be used as a comfortable bed for a child under 12 (although the Cavo would be quite cosy for 3 people).
There is a separate kitchenette which has a breakfast bar, hob and fridge. A stable door leads into the bedroom which has a double bed, wardrobe and easy chair. There is an ensuite bathroom with shower, hand basin and WC.
You will have a memorable stay at the Cavo, not only because of its individuality but also because of the peaceful, exquisite surroundings.
A quiet costal village with a beautiful beach set in the north of Kea, the simple and unspoilt charm of Otzias makes it a popular - yet still completely uncommercialised - destination for visitors to this wonderful island.
Its pristine beach has got to be one of the best on Kea. Around 700 magnificent metres of sand and shingle lapped by calm, clear waters and bordered by salt trees and lush, green hills. There are a number of thatched beach umbrellas here, providing some welcome shade, but little else except the sun, the sand, and the sea.
Behind the beach is a traditional taverna that is renowned for the quality and freshness of their fish and indeed reputed to be the best fish restaurant on the whole island. Just beyond the beach there is another, equally good and slightly more upmarket taverna which we can also highly recommend.
With its combination of good food, a great beach and its proximity to the yacht harbour of Voukari, which has several more good restaurants, tavernas and shops to offer, Otzias is a superb place to stay if you want to be by the beach - but don't want to share it with the masses.
There is something reallly special about arriving on a Greek island by boat and this particularly applies to the island of Kea. The ferry only takes an hour and departs from the port of Lavrio on the mainland, which is an easy forty minute drive down the main highway from Athens airport.
There are plenty of direct flights to Athens from the UK and it is approximately a 3 hour journey. You can fly direct from Gatwick, Glasgow, Heathrow, Luton and Manchester. Carriers include:

Kea's most popular sight is probably the Lion of kea, also called Lionidas. This is an imposing archaic sculpture of the lion that according to mythology chaesed away the nymphs of the island, causing many ravages. The story tells this lion was sent by the gods, because they were jealous of Kea's beauty.
