Why Holiday in Kefalonia?

Kefalonia is the largest of the Ionian Islands, but among the least commercialised. The coastline offers mile after mile of sandy beaches and unspoilt rural areas that are waiting to be explored.

The weather on the island of Kefalonia consists of rainy winters and dry, hot summers. With higher winter rainfall, Kefalonia boasts verdant plains, forests and hillsides dotted with grazing mountain goats.

Great food is certainly a feature of Kefalonia. Feta cheeses from goats and ewes milk, olives and fresh fish from the ports at Sami, Poros, Argostoli and Fiskardo are among the islands' specialities served at excellent tavernas across Kefalonia. Feedback on Blue Sea Villa ...

It was fantastic, just what we needed - much better than expected!! Lovely pool. (July 2010)
Lovely standard accommodation inside and out. Super clean and modern and bright and airy. Safe for a 2 year old and fabulous pool area. (June 2010)
We loved the easy access to the beach and pool. (May 2010)
An excellent standard of accommodation. First class views, pool, and location near to beach. We hope to return next year. (September 2009)
I think your pictures did not do the Seasons Beach Villas justice! They were very peaceful and quiet and Zoe, the owner, was extremely friendly. (September 2009)
Seasons Beach Villas gave us everything we needed - including air conditioning! There was plenty of space between the villas and you weren't overlooked on any of the balconies. Zoe, the owner, was welcoming, friendly and helpful, which added to the relaxed atmosphere. The location was perfect, with the pool facilities, beach, local mini market and a choice of tavernas all within walking distance. (August 2009)
Our villa had a great view and easy access to the taverna and beach. (July 2009)
Seasons Beach Villa was an excellent property. Superb views, a helpful owner and close to a really good restaurant. (June 2009)
Our villa was very well equipped. The views across the bay were stunning, and the gardens and pool area were extremely well looked after. Whenever we required any help or advise we only had to ask the owner. (May 2009)

Ai Helis is such a peaceful location. (June 2009)
The Seasons Beach Villas are secluded, which was perfect. The village of Ai Helis had a supermarket and a good selection of tavernas, all within easy walking distance. (May 2009)

Hints, Tips and Local Information

Lovely owner (July 2010)
I was told a car was optional for this property and I have to disagree. there was only one taverna in walking distance (inside 15 mins) and no shop for 20 minutes! with a 2 year old doing self catering we needed to do a full shop and definitely needed a car which we ended up renting locally. just a note for next time really. However this didn't change the good service we got. Visit other beaches as they are all different and some are better than the one near the property. Miklas Gialos beach up past the airport is lovely but busy. (June 2010)
The local shop stays open until 11 o'clock each night. (May 2010)
A car isn't essential all of the time but is great if you want to explore more of the island. (August 2009)
Ideal, ideal, ideal! (May 2009)

Situated 5km to the south of Sami is Drogatari Cave sits on top of Melissani Lake. It has a rare beauty with almost translucent ameythest waters that reflect the sunlight that pours through the roof back onto the cave walls. You can take a boat trip around the cavern which although a little bit on the touristy side is well worth the experience...
