The upper level is wooden in the local traditional manner, with ceilings supported by trunks of pines and cypresses. On the lower level, the floor is set with marble and the ceilings are made of traditional Lefkas island white wood. The paint and plastering of the walls and ceilings are based on natural materials that allow the underlying elements to breathe. Their soothing colors add to the serene atmosphere. To complete the comfort and luxurious feel of the villa, every room is airconditioned.
On the upper level of this two storey villa, there is a living room, a kitchen and a bedroom with adjoining bathroom. The spacious living room enjoys an exceptional view allowing you to relax each evening on the large couch and just gaze out at the distant lights. The room has been immaculately fitted, and also has a traditional black iron wood stove, TV, DVD and CD players. The kitchen, at one end of the living room, has a large dining table and chairs and is fully equipped for family holidays with a big refrigerator, oven, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave and coffee machine.
The upper floor bedroom has two single wooden beds that can be joined into a double bed without a gap in between. The bedroom also contains bedside tables, a dressing room, wardrobe, armchair , iron and ironing board ,TV with DVD and a CD player. From the bed are wide French windows with views to the sea and dotted islands of the Ionian Sea. The ensuite bathroom has a luxurious feel with a floor of marble and the wall tiles individually handmade by craftsmen. There is even a Jacuzzi for further comfort.
Descending the internal wooden staircase from the upper level to the ground floor leads to a central room which has a small range, a dishwasher, a small walled refrigerator and a coffee machine. In this space there is also a separate WC and a small storage closet, useful for hiding away those holiday suitcases when they not needed. On either side of this room there is an ensuite bedroom, both having two large separate beds that again can be joined into a double bed. The rest of the bedroom equipment is the same as on the top floor. The ensuites are similarly well-equipped as the one on the upper floor, except one has a tub with a Jacuzzi while the other has a shower. These bedrooms have large French windows that lead out onto a roofed stone veranda that connects to the courtyard and swimming pool area.
Outside, Villa Fos has a large and private swimming pool accessed by steps (4x10m to a depth varying between 80cm and 1.6m). Around the pool, there is a large sun deck area with deck chairs and umbrellas. There are more outdoor loungers, a BBQ and a parking space in front of the residence.

Villa Fos is located in the southern part of the island, 40 km from the main town of Lefkada. It is 6km to Vassiliki, Athani is 8 km and the international airport of Preveza (Aktio) is 55 km away. It is 8 km to the famous Porto Katsiki beach or 12 km to the beaches of Egkremnoi (highly recommended) or Yalos.
Of further interest is the Doukato promontory, some 8km away, where there are ruins of the temple of Apollo and a lighthouse while the Monastery of Agios Nikolaos of Niras, founded in the 17th century, is just 4 km distant. The nearest restaurant is 2 km away and has a great view of the beach of Egkremnoi and the Ionian Sea. There are another 3 restaurants within less than 6 km in the direction of Athani and many more in Vassiliki. Vassiliki itself has a supermarket and health centre while there is a mini-market in Athani.
Flights to Lefkada-Preveza airport, which is situated on the mainland and is a 30 minute drive from the island via a causeway, are available from Manchester and Gatwick, departing on Sundays.
Another option (and one we would recommend you consider) is to combine your Lefkas holiday with a stay on Kephalonia, from which there are ferry links.
Regular flights are available from Athens airport to Lefkada-Preveza.

Lefkas (or Lefkhada) Town is a fascinating place to spend some time, most of it is now pedestrianised and is easily navigated on foot. It was substantially destroyed by the earthquakes that hit the Ionian in 1948 but has retained most of its charm with many colourful buildings and a quaint maze of narrow lanes. The central square is surrounded by a number of small churches and there is some good shopping to be had too. Lefkas Town is the local hub of island life and as such is one of our preferred places to eat in the evenings, there is a good selection of tavernas and bars but without any touristy overtones...
The monastery of Panagia Faneromeni is possibly the most important religious monument on Lefkas and is located in the inland village of Frynio. It is situated in a beautiful location with fantastic sea views over the beach of Agios Ioannis. It is rumoured that the Apostle Paul came to this monastery to preach Christianity en route to Rome. There is a small museum in the monastery with a small collection of religious works including a beautiful screen created by the famous artist Estathios Prosalendis, there are several fine icons of the Virgin Mary and it is well worth a visit!
Lefkas is probably best known for its beautiful sandy beaches and watersports. Lefkas was chosen as the location for the windsurfing event in the 2004 Olympics which kind of says it all! Agios Ioannis in the north of Lefkas and Vassiliki in the south are the two main locations and there is board rental and tuition availble at both. There is an onshore breeze that steadily increases throughout the day and guarantees conditions that are suitable for both beginners and experts alike....
