Property details

This tranquil private estate allows you to enjoy a spot of tennis, relax on the beach or take a leisurely dip in one of the pools. The pretty harbour of Loggos with its tavernas cafés and bars is within walking distance.

The Glyfada family-run private estate comprises of several villas and detached houses on a wooded headland above Loggos harbour. On-site facilities include two swimming pools, 'honesty' pool bars, tennis court and taverna. The extensive grounds, excellent facilities and direct access onto two pretty shingle beaches ensure guests have plenty of space to relax and unwind.

These mezzanine villas provide air-conditioned* comfort in a light and airy environment along with a modern bathroom and a double or twin bedroom. French doors lead out onto a small private terrace that has breathtaking sea views.

Breakfast and lunch are included with your accommodation and evening meals are available most nights at the on-site taverna. Alternatively the owner Spiro offers a courtesy mini-bus service into nearby Loggos and Lakka on selected evenings or you have the choice of dining on your own balcony with provisions that can be delivered to your door. Alternatively, Loggos is about a 20 minute walk from Glyfada and offers a number of good tavernas, bars and mini-markets. Do bring a torch for the evening return walk to Glyfada.

This delightful setting consistently gets excellent feedback from couples and families, however we do recommend that those with walking difficulties check with our travel advisers before booking.

Location

Loggos, Paxos

Set in the charming hamlet of Dendiatika, the pretty fishing village of Loggos is within a 20 minute walk of Glyfada down well-worn 'donkey' steps.

The smallest of the three main villages on the island, Loggos is an enchanting and graceful old fishing port. This picturesque little village is home to an impressive array of shops, restaurants and tavernas, giving it a lively yet understated atmosphere.

The beautiful harbourfront provides a beguiling setting for al fresco dining and it's not unusual to sit and watch the locals bring in their catch for the day, gut it on their boats and then take it into the family restaurant, ready to be eaten that night. Little wonder the quayside restaurants at Loggos have a reputation for offering some of the best food on the island.

The swimming here is excellent, with beautiful clear water ideal for snorkelling. During the day, brightly coloured boats will take you to explore the bays and beaches along the coast or transport you across to Anti-Paxos with its fantastic sandy beach.

As for the nightlife, the main square with its handful of bars and tavernas offers the perfect spot in which to stretch an enjoyable end to a wonderful day late into the evening.

Why Holiday in Paxos?

Paxos is a tiny gem that lies in the Ionian Sea just an hour's hydrofoil trip from its larger neighbour Corfu. With no direct flights, this island of pretty harbours and undiscovered coves is delightfully laid-back and off-the-beaten-track.

Gaios is the island town, main harbour and centre of island life. Harbour-side tavernas greet arriving visitors but are well worth a return visit during your stay. Loggos is a pretty village harbour just a 10 minute taxi ride from Gaios and home to several of our Paxos villas and apartments. Perhaps the best way to explore this island is by small boat - simply potter along the shoreline to find your own idyllic cove.

For more information on Paxos, its harbours and villages click the tabs above. Our 'Getting there' section includes flight routes to neighbouring Corfu and ferry options.

How To Get There

Transfers to Paxos are usually by hydrofoil from the port in Corfu Town with the crossing taking approximately 1 hour. If you book inter-island transfers with us, you will be met at Corfu Airport by our Perfect Blue Representative who will escort you to a taxi to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil. You will also have the option to book car hire or property transfers for once you arrive on Paxos.

Please note that the best arrival days for connecting to Paxos are on Mondays, when there are more boats and hydrofoils in operation. We recommend selecting flights that arrive on Corfu no later than 13:00 to leave time for your onward transfer to Paxos.

On Mondays, flights to Corfu leave from the following UK airports: Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Exeter, Gatwick, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Stansted. Direct flights are also available from Dublin and there are daily flights from Athens Airport.

Perfect Blue Holidays offer a full travel service including flights, car hire and taxi transfers as well as apartments, hotels and villas on an accommodation-only basis.

Loggos, Paxos ...

The 'rustic' nature of the area is great along with the proximity to the beach and nearness of the harbour towns/villages. (August 2010)
It was potentially one of the best places we have visited (August 2010)
We loved the views and the peaceful and friendly atmosphere (July 2010)

Hints, Tips and Local Information

Bring walking shoes and rucksack if you intend to go exploring. Would not be a good location for those unable to walk uphill easily. (August 2010)
The owners couldn't have done more to make our stay any better- they were lovely. It did mention that those with walking difficulties should contact you directly however it would have been useful to mention that the site was very hilly and the terrain was often uneven as this did affect the footwear which could be comfortably worn (July 2010)
If you go in mid-summer like us when it is really hot (40 degrees!) it's not really feasible to walk to Loggos so taxi numbers provided in the holiday pack would have been useful [now added, thank you] (July 2010)
Supermarkets in Loggos will usually deliver free to Glyfada Villa customers and save you getting heat stroke lugging your shopping up from the village! (August 2009)
Bring good walking shoes. (June 2009)
Hire a boat to explore the rest of Paxos and Anti-Paxos.
(June 2009)
The minibus trips to Loggos and Lakka were great for non-walkers, and Loggos is particularly charming. (May 2009)
This will be a hard one to beat if we stick to our 'never go back to the same place twice' rule! (August 2008)
