Loggos, Paxos
Set in the charming hamlet of Dendiatika, the pretty fishing village of Loggos is within a 20 minute walk of Glyfada down well-worn 'donkey' steps.
The smallest of the three main villages on the island, Loggos is an enchanting and graceful old fishing port. This picturesque little village is home to an impressive array of shops, restaurants and tavernas, giving it a lively yet understated atmosphere.
The beautiful harbourfront provides a beguiling setting for al fresco dining and it's not unusual to sit and watch the locals bring in their catch for the day, gut it on their boats and then take it into the family restaurant, ready to be eaten that night. Little wonder the quayside restaurants at Loggos have a reputation for offering some of the best food on the island.
The swimming here is excellent, with beautiful clear water ideal for snorkelling. During the day, brightly coloured boats will take you to explore the bays and beaches along the coast or transport you across to Anti-Paxos with its fantastic sandy beach.
As for the nightlife, the main square with its handful of bars and tavernas offers the perfect spot in which to stretch an enjoyable end to a wonderful day late into the evening.
Why Holiday in Paxos?
Paxos is a tiny gem that lies in the Ionian Sea just an hour's hydrofoil trip from its larger neighbour Corfu. With no direct flights, this island of pretty harbours and undiscovered coves is delightfully laid-back and off-the-beaten-track.
Gaios is the island town, main harbour and centre of island life. Harbour-side tavernas greet arriving visitors but are well worth a return visit during your stay. Loggos is a pretty village harbour just a 10 minute taxi ride from Gaios and home to several of our Paxos villas and apartments. Perhaps the best way to explore this island is by small boat - simply potter along the shoreline to find your own idyllic cove.
