Property details

This exclusive private estate is a great choice for families. It has two swimming pools, a tennis court and an (almost) private beach. The pretty harbour of Loggos is within walking distance and has a great choice of tavernas and cafe bars.

The Glyfada family-run private estate comprises of several villas and detached houses on a wooded headland above Loggos harbour. On-site facilities include two swimming pools, 'honesty' pool bars, tennis court and taverna. The extensive grounds, excellent facilities and direct access onto 2 pretty shingle beaches ensure guests have plenty of space to relax and unwind.

These air-conditioned villas have spacious, comfortably furnished living rooms with French doors that open onto a terrace with breathtaking sea views. The kitchenette - which is designed for making drinks and light snacks - is equipped with a sink, fridge, kettle and full complement of crockery and cutlery.

The master bedroom is a double and has an en-suite bathroom - as does the mezzanine bedroom, which can accommodate up to three single beds.

Breakfast and lunch are included with your accommodation and evening meals are available most nights at the on-site taverna. Alternatively the owner Spiro offers a courtesy mini-bus service into nearby Loggos and Lakka on selected evenings or you have the choice of dining on your own balcony with provisions that can be delivered to your door. Alternatively, Loggos is about a 20 minute walk from Glyfada and offers a number of good tavernas, bars and mini-markets. Do bring a torch for the evening return walk to Glyfada.

This delightful setting consistently gets excellent feedback from couples and families, however we do recommend that those with walking difficulties check with our travel advisers.

Please call our travel team on 0844 811 9720 for help co-ordinating your flights to Corfu and onward transfers to Paxos.

Location

Loggos, Paxos

Set in the charming hamlet of Dendiatika, the pretty fishing village of Loggos is within a 20 minute walk of Glyfada down well-worn 'donkey' steps.

The smallest of the three main villages on the island, Loggos is an enchanting and graceful old fishing port. This picturesque little village is home to an impressive array of shops, restaurants and tavernas, giving it a lively yet understated atmosphere.

The beautiful harbourfront provides a beguiling setting for al fresco dining and it's not unusual to sit and watch the locals bring in their catch for the day, gut it on their boats and then take it into the family restaurant, ready to be eaten that night. Little wonder the quayside restaurants at Loggos have a reputation for offering some of the best food on the island.

The swimming here is excellent, with beautiful clear water ideal for snorkelling. During the day, brightly coloured boats will take you to explore the bays and beaches along the coast or transport you across to Anti-Paxos with its fantastic sandy beach.

As for the nightlife, the main square with its handful of bars and tavernas offers the perfect spot in which to stretch an enjoyable end to a wonderful day late into the evening.

Why Holiday in Paxos?

Paxos is a tiny gem that lies in the Ionian Sea just an hour's hydrofoil trip from its larger neighbour Corfu. With no direct flights, this island of pretty harbours and undiscovered coves is delightfully laid-back and off-the-beaten-track.

Gaios is the island town, main harbour and centre of island life. Harbour-side tavernas greet arriving visitors but are well worth a return visit during your stay. Loggos is a pretty village harbour just a 10 minute taxi ride from Gaios and home to several of our Paxos villas and apartments. Perhaps the best way to explore this island is by small boat - simply potter along the shoreline to find your own idyllic cove.

For more information on Paxos, its harbours and villages click the tabs above. Our 'Getting there' section includes flight routes to neighbouring Corfu and ferry options.

How To Get There

Transfers to Paxos are usually by hydrofoil from the port in Corfu Town with the crossing taking approximately 1 hour. If you book inter-island transfers with us, you will be met at Corfu Airport by our Perfect Blue Representative who will escort you to a taxi to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil. You will also have the option to book car hire or property transfers for once you arrive on Paxos.

Please note that the best arrival days for connecting to Paxos are on Mondays, when there are more boats and hydrofoils in operation. We recommend selecting flights that arrive on Corfu no later than 13:00 to leave time for your onward transfer to Paxos.

On Mondays, flights to Corfu leave from the following UK airports: Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Exeter, Gatwick, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Stansted. Direct flights are also available from Dublin and there are daily flights from Athens Airport.

Perfect Blue Holidays offer a full travel service including flights, car hire and taxi transfers as well as apartments, hotels and villas on an accommodation-only basis.

Customer Reviews

Feedback on Glyfada Beach Villa (2 bedroom) ...

A very relaxing holiday with great pools and a beautiful quiet beach, accessed only through a locked gate. Very unspoilt place. The villas have been thoughfully laid out with fantastic views. Would definately return (August 2010)
The photos did not do it justice - suggest you update them [note - thank you for the feedback, new photos are arriving in the next few days] (June 2010)
It was uncrowded, close to the sea and there were no nearby (or faraway) large hotels. The grounds were well maintained and clean. Our villa was close to swimming pool, tavernas and beach. (June 2010)
If anything, your description of Glyfada Beach Villa on the website was rather understated - which made it even more enjoyable when we got there. Fantastic location, fantastic staff and great attention to detail. (August 2009)
We were hoping for welcoming and comfortable accommodation - and Glyfada Beach Villas were exactly that. Beautiful views and extremely private and quiet. They were in a great location: close to the sea, with just the right amount of tavernas close by, and not too far for a walk to the bay. Absolutely idyllic. (July 2009)
We were impressed by the friendliness of the guests in the other villas and the staff. The owner in particular kindly transported us to and from the local harbours on several nights so we could enjoy the local cuisine - all at no charge. (June 2009)
We particularly liked the lower pool and terrace, and the great choice of beaches. (September 2008)
The villa was a great place for a family to stay. (May 2008)

Loggos, Paxos ...

A beautiful, idyllic spot. (August 2010)
Tranquil, safe, friendly, clean (June 2010)
It was incredibly relaxing, with everything we needed close at hand but without feeling like a 'resort'. (August 2009)
Loggos is still a fantastic place for a quiet holiday. (June 2009)
Stunning views: the most beautiful we've experienced in the Ionian Islands. (September 2008)
A superb location and a spectacular sea view. (May 2008)

Hints, Tips and Local Information

Make the most of the stunning walks around the island & surrounding areas. Worth a visit to the west coast to watch the amazing sunsets. (August 2010)
I would recommend getting up early to watch the sunrise from the poolside taverna. (August 2009)
Some of the pathways are extremely steep, so may not be ideal for anyone who is unsteady on their feet. (July 2009)
Forget the car - hire a boat instead. This was by far the best way of getting around Paxos. (May 2008)
