Villa Lioniskari is a charming traditional villa situated on a headland at the entrance to Mogonissi Bay, just a short drive south of Gaios town. This glorious setting enjoys sea views to Anti-Paxos and the Greek mainland beyond. With the completion of a new swimming pool, this pretty villa is now more appealing than ever!

Several beaches lie within a short walk of the villa, including the beach at Mogonissi. Alternatively hire a boat from Gaios port to seek out undiscovered coves and bays or take to a day trip to Anti-Paxos with its fine sandy beaches.

Lioniskari is furnished in traditional Paxiot style with marble floors, white-washed walls and wooden ceilings. The main living area is an open-plan lounge / dining room / kitchen that is fully-equipped for up to six guests. French doors open onto a large covered veranda that makes the most of the villa's raised hillside position and those superb sea views.

In the main house there is one double and one twin bedroom, the third bedroom is a double located in the spacious attached self contained studio with en suite facilities, all bedrooms provide comfortable, air-conditioned accommodation. Lioniskari is also an excellent choice for couples seeking a private Paxos villa with pool.

As well as the stunning veranda to the front of the villa, Lioniskari features shaded terraces and a barbeque area that is perfect for al-fresco dining. Villa Lioniskari offers a tranquil setting for those who enjoy the relaxed Greek island lifestyle and the lush green surroundings of Paxos.

Location

Mogonissi, Paxos

A drive South along the coastal road from Gaios leads to lagoon-like Mogonissi Bay which offers a fine sandy beach, watersports such as windsurfing and canoeing as well as a taverna right on the beach which serves drinks and good food. In contrast the southern coastline features rocky cliffs, high seas and panoramic views of idyllic Anti-Paxos to the south.

A short walk from Villa Lioniskari along the East coast leads to one of the many pebble coves with excellent swimming, while Mogonissi's sandy beach is just a few minutes walk further South. The tavernas, shops and amenities of Gaios Town are less than 3 km (10 minutes) by car from the villa.

Why Holiday in Paxos?

Paxos is a tiny gem that lies in the Ionian Sea just an hour's hydrofoil trip from its larger neighbour Corfu. With no direct flights, this island of pretty harbours and undiscovered coves is delightfully laid-back and off-the-beaten-track.

Gaios is the island town, main harbour and centre of island life. Harbour-side tavernas greet arriving visitors but are well worth a return visit during your stay. Loggos is a pretty village harbour just a 10 minute taxi ride from Gaios and home to several of our Paxos villas and apartments. Perhaps the best way to explore this island is by small boat - simply potter along the shoreline to find your own idyllic cove.

For more information on Paxos, its harbours and villages click the tabs above. Our 'Getting there' section includes flight routes to neighbouring Corfu and ferry options.

How To Get There

Transfers to Paxos are usually by hydrofoil from the port in Corfu Town with the crossing taking approximately 1 hour. If you book inter-island transfers with us, you will be met at Corfu Airport by our Perfect Blue Representative who will escort you to a taxi to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil. You will also have the option to book car hire or property transfers for once you arrive on Paxos.

Please note that the best arrival days for connecting to Paxos are on Mondays, when there are more boats and hydrofoils in operation. We recommend selecting flights that arrive on Corfu no later than 13:00 to leave time for your onward transfer to Paxos.

On Mondays, flights to Corfu leave from the following UK airports: Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Exeter, Gatwick, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, Stansted. Direct flights are also available from Dublin and there are daily flights from Athens Airport.

Perfect Blue Holidays offer a full travel service including flights, car hire and taxi transfers as well as apartments, hotels and villas on an accommodation-only basis.

Customer Reviews

Feedback on Villa Lioniskari ...

Near the sea - not too far from village but far enough to be quiet. Views are fab! Pool lovely - especially nighttime illumination. Please pass on our appreciation to the owners in terms of how they looked after the property. It is very important for me that there is a good maid service - this was very good. The garden was also lovely and much appreciated and added to the pleasure of the holiday. (July 2010)

Hints, Tips and Local Information

Italian restaurant in Mongonissi - charming and excellent. We also liked the nearest ' sunset' one - Erikriti? Last rest on far left hand side of harbour in Gaois very good - called something like ' Meditteranean spagetti???' Walking in interior really lovely. Fantastic snorkling and boat hire always fun. Well organised Flights also good with Viking (July 2010)
Our rep told us which supermarket would deliver to the villa, which was really helpful (in fact, when we got there we ended up in a torrential thunderstorm and the supermarket delivered not only our shopping but the four of us in the back of their van!). (May 2010)
Take a torch for the walks home in the evening. (October 2009)
Very few restaurants and bars accept credit cards on Paxos - so be sure to take sufficient cash! I would also recommend hiring a car. (June 2009)
Just wish we stayed for two weeks! (September 2008)
We can't understand why we haven't found Paxos before, so a very big thank you for making our two weeks so enjoyable and so delightful. (June 2008)
I would say a car is essential. (May 2008)
