Almond Cottage offers an authentic feel. Its lone location on a small bluff allows for stunning views in all directions and lots of sunny spaces. It is surrounded by mature olive, walnut, almond, cypress, plum and fig trees which add to the character of the property.
The Cottage is a blend of rustic and traditional decor that has been tastefully updated. The sitting room is a few stairs down from the ground floor hall and has a fireplace and views out to the pool. The fully equipped kitchen is located at the end of this open-plan room room.
Ladder-like stairs lead from the hall to a gallery bedroom with en-suite shower room, two single beds and a private balcony with fantastic sea views. This bedroom is above but open to the hall area below. These stairs are not suitable for those with walking difficulties.
The oldest section has a stone stairway leading from the hall to the master bedroom with a double bed. The views from this room are stunning and the many windows allow for a light and sunny atmosphere. Guests staying in the master bedroom would use the w/c shower room acessed from the main hall below.
Almond Cottage could quite easily been chosen as a setting for Mamma Mia due to its traditional appeal and is well suited for either couples and families seeking a peaceful cottage with the benefit of a private swimming pool. Several lovely beaches and the amenties of Skopelos Town are within a short drive.
The convenient location of Kanaris Pool Cottage makes getting to town and beaches in under 10 minutes a great selection for many. Both of the closest beaches to the cottage, Glysteri and Glyfoneri, have a selection of tavernas specializing in local cuisine as well as fresh fish. Just a few minutes' drive further brings you to Skopelos town where there are supermarkets, restaurants, cafes and nightlife.
Although the town is so close, guests at Kanaris Cottage may often choose to eat at home to make the most of the sublime serenity of this secluded setting. The location of the cottage is perfect for those who like to explore by foot. It is surrounded by country lanes and trails. Those who like walking can also reach the beaches by foot.
The fact that there is no airport on Skopelos can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
To get to Skopelos you fly to Skiathos from either Birmingham, East Midlands, Gatwick, Manchester or Newcastle with most flights departing on Fridays. From Skiathos you take the Flying Dolphin which takes approx. 1 hour to reach Skopelos.
You will be met at Skiathos Airport where a taxi will be waiting to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil or ferry. Another representative awaits your arrival on Skopelos.
Skopelos can also be reached by ferry from Agios Konstantinos on the mainland.
