Villa Katerina is a modern and completely private villa set on the hill above Skopelos Town. Entry is into the airy split level, open plan sitting / dining room, with the well equipped kitchen off to one side. A small, built in breakfast table and chairs is housed next to the kitchen and, in front of French windows leading out to the pool terrace, is a large family dining table. The spacious sitting room is down two steps from the dining area and is furnished with comfortable sofas, TV and bookshelves and, again, French windows leading out to the gardens and pool terrace. A door from the dining area leads to a small hallway from which there is a double bedroom with a sea facing patio and shower/wc.
Stairs from this hallway lead up to the first floor where there is a further double bedroom and one twin-bedded room. Both bedrooms have French windows leading to sea-facing balconies and share a family bathroom complete with both shower and bathtub.
Villa Katerina is completely private and stands in its own extensive grounds with large terraces from which to take advantage of the fabulous views over the sea. The large pool terrace is surrounded by mature fruit trees and flowers with, to one side, the BBQ and outdoor kitchen, complete with outdoor dining table. A dirt road of approximately 400m leads to the villa from the main, asphalt, Raches road.
This peaceful and private property is set in its own extensive gardens in the quiet countryside area of Raches but less than 10 minutes drive from Skopelos Town. The nearest beach is Glyfoneri, just a few minutes drive from the villa. Given its countryside location, this is also a great place from which to explore the area on foot as there are many old donkey trails nearby.
Car hire is essential as there is no taxi service to this villa.
The fact that there is no airport on Skopelos can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
To get to Skopelos you fly to Skiathos from either Birmingham, East Midlands, Gatwick, Manchester or Newcastle with most flights departing on Fridays. From Skiathos you take the Flying Dolphin which takes approx. 1 hour to reach Skopelos.
You will be met at Skiathos Airport where a taxi will be waiting to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil or ferry. Another representative awaits your arrival on Skopelos.
Skopelos can also be reached by ferry from Agios Konstantinos on the mainland.
