You enter this lovely villa into the open-plan living room which has a corner fireplace, open beamed ceilings and a large dining table. The spacious kitchen has several modern conveniences, including a dishwasher. Its high ceilings and abundant windows create a light and airy space. A double French door from the dining area leads to a spacious terrace with another dining table - the perfect place for al fresco meals.
On the same floor you will find a double a small hallway, which can be closed off to create privacy and allow the bathroom facilities to be used exclusively by the occupants of the master bedroom. The master bedroom is furnished with a beautiful dressing table, bedside tables and a pretty wood and iron double bed.
You will come to the lower floor by a stairway in the kitchen, which leads to a hallway. Here you can access two bedrooms and a large shower room (with WC) which is between them. Each bedroom has two single beds (one of which can be converted to a double bed) and are comfortably furnished with dressing tables and plenty of wardrobe space. Both bedrooms have double French doors leading to a small terrace furnished with table and chairs. From the terraces, you can access the pool area and main terrace by an outside staircase.
One of this villa's best features is its spacious, completely private outdoor areas. The pool is surrounded by large terraces with sweeping views to the sea and valley. There is a built-in poolside barbecue for cooking up sumptuous outdoor meals. The large terrace outside the kitchen has a sizeable dining table and is easily accessible to both the barbecue and kitchen alike. The views from all outdoor spaces are splendid, taking in the velvety green hillsides and turquoise blue seas.
Please note: a cot and high chair are available on request, at a charge of 5 euros per day payable locally.
The unique position of the villa has privacy and stunning views. The villa is accessed by a steep driveway. It is possible to walk to Skopelos Town via a footpath, but this is not recommended for anyone with walking difficulties.
A harbour lined with cafes and tavernas, and a maze of alleyways overflowing with churches and chapels - Skopelos Town has a strong sense of tradition combined with a laid-back, welcoming atmosphere which will immediately draw you in to the relaxed pace which is very much a way of life here.
The town is a designated preservation area, with attractive white houses cascading in layers down the hillside from the ruins of the Venetian castle above to the lively harbour below.
Along its bustling waterfront, exclusive restaurants, cosmopolitan shops, excellent bars and tavernas shelter under the magnificent mulberry and plane trees. In the maze of cobblestoned streets behind, there are over 125 chapels hidden amongst the pretty whitewashed cottages with their brightly painted doors and shutters.
The crowning glory of Skopelos Town is the 13th century Venetian kastro - although you have to climb the steep and narrow streets of the town to reach this wonderful ruin, the sight of the nearby cafe (whose owner is an excellent bazouki player) is often as welcome as the spellbinding views.
The fact that there is no airport on Skopelos can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
To get to Skopelos you fly to Skiathos from either Birmingham, East Midlands, Gatwick, Manchester or Newcastle with most flights departing on Fridays. From Skiathos you take the Flying Dolphin which takes approx. 1 hour to reach Skopelos.
You will be met at Skiathos Airport where a taxi will be waiting to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil or ferry. Another representative awaits your arrival on Skopelos.
Skopelos can also be reached by ferry from Agios Konstantinos on the mainland.
