Villa Katerina is a much sought after property standing just 3 rows up from the harbour side and only 5 minutes walk from the town centre. The main feature is the fantastic panoramic view of Symi town and its harbour.
Access is up fairly steep steps and into a private covered courtyard with an outside dining table. A few steps lead up into the fully tiled shower room. The main door into the house leads into an entrance hallway. Turn left into the kitchen with mini oven and traditional feature fireplace. To the right of the hall is the second bedroom complete with single bed. Straight ahead is the lovely airy saloni with its high ceiling, sofas and French doors leading onto a balcony where you can watch the world go by in the harbour. To the left of the saloni is the main bedroom with a double bed and the same wonderful views.
Villa Katerina is ideal for those seeking a traditional Symi house with fantastic views across the harbour.

Yialos is the main harbour area of Symi, situated in a fjord-like bay, the hill towers above it covered in beautiful 19th century neo-classical buildings set in tiers. The buildings are a variety of pastel colours but each of them has its own neo-classical pediment. Once the home to wealthy sponge merchants, they are a reminder of Symi's prosperous past. Currently many have been updated into holiday accommodation, boasting spectacular architecture and fabulous vistas. The town has cafes, tavernas and restaurants from which to enjoy your setting, but it is also an ideal base to explore the whole of this island with its excellent beaches and interesting sights such as the castle, churches and monasteries.
The fact that there is no airport on Symi can only enhance your holiday as it means that none of the big package holiday companies go there.
To get to Symi you fly to Rhodes from Manchester, Birmingham, Gatwick, Belfast or Bristol with most flights departing on Saturdays. From Rhodes you take by Symi's own high speed ferry 'Panormitis', hydrofoil or inter-island ferry. The sailing is 1 hour 45 mins by ferry or 45 mins by hydrofoil from Rhodes.
You will be met at Rhodes Airport where a taxi will be waiting to take you to the port for the next available hydrofoil or ferry. Another representative awaits your arrival on Symi.
Symi can also be reached by ferry from Athens on the mainland.

The annual Symi festival, held from July to September, is an important cultural event on the island. Theatre, open-air cinema, dance, traditional and classical music, literary and art exhibitions are all included in the summer programme.
Pack some strong walking shoes and a sun hat because Symi is a hiker's paradise and the best way to uncover the island's many treasures is on foot. If you're planning on doing some serious walking consider visiting in the spring or autumn because telperatures on the island are almost the highest in Greece. You'll also avoid the high season hordes that flock here daily from neighbouring Rhodes in July and August.
