This atmospheric Greek country cottage rests in thirty acres of private, gated grounds, yet remains a short distance from the village and all its amenities. Gerakas, the best beach on Zante, is also within easy reach.
Encircled by olive groves, Elizabeth Cottage is set amongst delightful, mature gardens filled with flowers, pine trees and palm trees. It has been refurbished but without detracting from its traditional character.
All the accommodation is on the ground floor. From the patio at the front of the house you enter into the air-conditioned living room with a dining area for six people. Off this room, you will find a well-equipped kitchen with a door leading onto the patio area at the rear of the property. The master bedroom features a double bed with French doors leading out onto the courtyard. There is a bathroom next to it complete with shower cubicle.
There is a also a twin bedroom. Outside, from the courtyard, there is a separate entrance into the third bedroom which has two single beds, and a bathroom with a shower and WC.
To the front of the property is a spacious terrace with dining table and chairs ; to the rear, there is a sun-filled courtyard with a full-sized barbecue. The garden features a swimming pool (7m x 4m, 0.9m to 1.9m depth) with sun loungers.
Elizabeth Cottage provides a truly rural hideaway for those looking for peace and privacy.
In addition to having some of the most beautiful and natural countryside on the island, the Vassilikos peninsula has several fine sandy beaches that are excellent for kids and beach bums. The area has not been subjected to the ravages of mass tourism and is a great place to go to if you enjoy a quieter holiday in beautiful natural surroundings.
There are plenty tavernas and mini-markets conveniently dotted along roads and you will also come across the occasional beach taverna when walking along the soft golden sands of Plaka or the lovely endless Ionian beach which is backed by sand dunes and is completely natural.
Of course there is still plenty to do if you want to seek it out, in St Nicholas you will find the islands watersports centre with a full range of activities, and Argassi will provide a comprehensive range of shops, restaurants and nightlife for those looking for a little more excitement.
Hot summers and warm evenings are assured on this southernmost Ionian Island. Visitors will find established resorts with plenty of amenities and activities to keep the children busy.
We specialise in Zante villas and apartments outside resorts and in quieter areas on the island such as Bouka and Vassilikos. Enjoy the calm turquoise waters that lap golden beaches along the South coast or explore the more rugged Northern corners of the island. Shipwreck Bay (Navagio Beach) and the Blue Caves are certainly worth seeing.

The majority of Zante flights depart on Sundays and Thursdays. There are no flights from the UK available on Saturdays, when direct flight instead run from Cork and Dublin. Daily flights to Zante are available from Athens Airport.

Zante is known as the most important nesting ground for the endangered species of loggerhead sea-turtles, the Caretta-Caretta, and a national marine park had been created to protect and preserve these creatures. During the summer months, holidaymakers can visit Kalamaki or Laganags and take a glass-bottomed boat trip to view the turtles in their natural habitat and even swim with them.
