Property details

Sitting right on the sandy beach at Agios Sostis, Beach Villa offers privacy and a great seaside holiday.

This villa is ideal for families as the long sandy beach gently shelves into the sea. Located close to the pretty fishing harbour and Cameo Island, the bay is also home to the Loggerhead Turtles.

The Beach Villa has versatile accommodation arranged over two floors. On the ground floor there is a spacious lounge, with a sofa and a TV and CD player. The small kitchenette is suitable for making drinks and light snacks. There is one bathroom on this floor which has a WC and a shower. You will find a twin bedroom with French windows opening out onto a large stone flagged, vine-shaded terrace with fabulous views over the beach.

From the lounge, marble stairs lead up to the first floor which has another kitchen, fully equipped, and a dining area furnished with a table and chairs for six people. Doors open out onto a second large terrace, ideal for drinks and al fresco dining. There are two ensuite bedrooms on this level, one twin and one double, both with French windows opening out onto the terrace. Each bathroom has a shower and WC.

There is also a sofabed/daybed in the upper living area that is suitable for an extra child.

The Beach House has sweeping views across the bay, as far as the Vassilikos peninsula. Its elevated position gives a real sense of privacy and additionally benefits from being only a few steps down to the beach.

Please note: as the terrace has a low wall, it may be unsuitable for young children.

Location

Agios Sostis, Zante

Set within beautiful wooded countryside, the area of Agios Sostis has a charm all of its own. This is true Greece where life continues very much in the local tradition.

The working fishing harbour and marina is a starting point for many of the boat trips around the island, and the long sandy beach which shelves gently into the sea is absolutely ideal for children. There are also a couple of beach bars that serve cool drinks and delicious lunches (you should definitely try The Harbourside), with several more tavernas and an excellent fish restaurant to be found close by. Just up the hill from the beach there is a hotel that has a swimming pool and bar that is open to non-residents.

Along the coast from Agios Sostis in one direction the beaches get progressively quieter and less developed, whilst a short walk away in the other direction (although you may have to paddle at high tide!) is the lively resort of Laganas Bay with its many bars, shops and restaurants and a beach that seems to go on forever.

Why Holiday in Zante?

Hot summers and warm evenings are assured on this southernmost Ionian Island. Visitors will find established resorts with plenty of amenities and activities to keep the children busy.

We specialise in Zante villas and apartments outside resorts and in quieter areas on the island such as Bouka and Vassilikos. Enjoy the calm turquoise waters that lap golden beaches along the South coast or explore the more rugged Northern corners of the island. Shipwreck Bay (Navagio Beach) and the Blue Caves are certainly worth seeing.

Customer Reviews

Feedback on The Beach Villa ...

Actually - The Beach Villa was probably even better than we expected. If you want a fabulous, relaxing week on the beach - you couldn't get better than this at the price. You're right on the beach - and have two really superb balconies to lie out on. As Perfect Blue does specify though, the low walls, especially on the upstairs balcony, unfortunately wouldn't be suitable for small children. (September 2010)
The Beach Villa is right on the beach, convenient for all the amenities, but fairly quiet and private. (June 2010)
The Beach Villa was in the perfect setting. 10 out of 10. Excellent. (September 2009)
The Beach Villa was the ideal location for a restful holiday. (July 2009)
The villa was excellent - on the beach, well equipped and with two lovely big balconies looking out over the sea. (August 2008)
Spacious airy rooms, beautiful terraces and a great sense of privacy. The owner, Nicola, was really nice without being at all intrusive. (July 2008)
A great villa in a good location. The shady terrace with a large vine overhead, overlooking the beach, was a great spot for lunch. (May 2008)
The villa was spacious, well equipped and in a lovely location. It was well equipped and clean with plenty of room for us all. There was a beautiful sun terrace overlooking the sea - perfect for sunbathing and pre-dinner drinks! (May 2008)
The villa was clean and well-maintained. It was in a stunning location; right on the beach yet high enough to maintain privacy. The owner was charming and helpful, (October 2007)

Agios Sostis, Zante ...

We loved that it was on the beach! (September 2010)
We enjoyed the shallow bay for the children. (June 2010)
A great location right on a lovely beach. Clean and quiet but within easy walking distance of bars, shops etc. (August 2008)
The villa was right on the beach with an excellent traditional taverna virtually next door. (July 2008)
On the beachfront. Beautiful gently sloping sea full of starfish. Close to a lovely harbour with a resident turtle! (May 2008)
The setting was very quiet but was close enough to restaurants, supermarkets and nightlife if wanted. There was a great pool close by where the owners made us very welcome. (May 2008)
The bay is the most 'touristy' area of Zakynthos but the location of the villa made it a peaceful and relaxing holiday. It was great to be able to walk along the beach to excellent restaurants and the hire car made it easy to explore other parts of the island. (October 2007)

Hints, Tips and Local Information

1 set of bedding/towels was missing with the booking being for 7. The rep, Sarah did however, rectify this immediately. It is hard to get any of the restaurants to take credit cards. (June 2010)
There is a turtle that visits the harbour each morning when the fishermen clean out their nets. Take snorkels! (May 2008)
Try to use the local tavernas around Agios Sostis rather than heading into the larger resorts. The food was always good and the staff very welcoming. (May 2008)
Overall, your service was friendly and efficient. (October 2007)

Available activities

Waterparks in Zante (Family Fun)

No family holiday to Zakynthos would be complete without a trip to a waterpark. We can confirm that these are great fun for all the family, including slides, pools, rafting or just lazing by the waterside.

Sea Turtle Spotting by Glass Bottom Boat (Natural Beauty)

Zante is known as the most important nesting ground for the endangered species of loggerhead sea-turtles, the Caretta-Caretta, and a national marine park had been created to protect and preserve these creatures. During the summer months, holidaymakers can visit Kalamaki or Laganags and take a glass-bottomed boat trip to view the turtles in their natural habitat and even swim with them.
