Perfectly located for exploring the southeastern peninsular of the island, but with plenty to offer within the local area, the popularity of Skala is definitely on the increase. Hardly surprising when you see the beach - a seemingly never-ending stretch of gorgeous, golden sand fringing clear, clean, calm waters.
Then there is Skala itself. A small village at heart, it has retained all the charm and character you would hope to find in a Greek island resort. Although not overly developed, there is a good selection of shops, restaurants and tavernas to choose from - everything from the upmarket Noufara to the great value beachside Pines. And for those looking for a bit of nightlife, whilst there are no noisy discotheques, there are a number of late-night bars providing entertainment into the small hours.
With its excellent position, good range of facilities and - of course - its breathtaking beach, Skala is fast becoming the place to stay on a visit to Kefalonia.
