The most cosmopolitan resort on Lefkas, Nidri is a still a relatively small town meandering along a shingle and sand beach with the lush green of the mountains behind it. Whilst undoubtedly a little more developed than other resorts on the island, it still retains plenty of local colour and a genuine sense of Greek hospitality.
Just a 15 minute drive from Lefkada Town, Nidri combines an abundance of natural beauty with exquisite views of Skorpios - which is still a private island belonging to the famous Onassis family - and the green jewels of Madouri and Meganisi. Its small marina provides a perfect base for day cruises, island hopping trips and also has daily ferries to Kefalonia, whilst the beach is a centre for a wide variety of watersports.
With a plentiful selection of shops, restaurants and tavernas to choose from (but definitely no loud bars or discos to shatter the peace), Nidri is a great spot for families or couples - providing everything you might need on your holiday, and all within easy walking distance.
