Vassiliki

Typical view of Vassiliki Vassiliki is a resort of two seasons - quiet in May/June/September/October, it really blossoms in July and August as it is recognised as the windsurfing capital of Europe, and you can enjoy the spectacle of numerous windsurfers zipping across the water. This is a great place to learn or develop your skills and we recommend reserving equipment and lessons in advance for the peak season.

The beach is mainly pebble with some shingle, and is gently shelving.

Vassiliki itself is quite small and retains a lot of it's old character through it's buildings and streets. Recommended visits include the harbour front area which has pavement cafes, restaurants and ice cream shops. The harbour is a popular stopping off point for boats and yachts, so just people watching is fun, and is also where you can catch the ferry to Kefalonia and Ithaka.

The village has a single ATM or money can easily be exchanged at the local travel agencies. Other services include a Police Station, Medical Centre, Post Office, Bakery and Petrol Station. There is a public bus service to Lefkada Town, which varies in frequency throughout the year.

The surrounding countryside is fairly flat, which makes it ideal for walking or cycling.
