Lefkada which means 'White Island', takes its name from the chalky cliffs in the south of the island. Resorts in Lefkada


Vassiliki is a picturesque fishing village located 37 km from Lefkada Town. The village sits around the beautiful bay and has a long pebbled beach, which is famous for its perfect windsurfing and sailing. Water sports facilities and windsurfing renting material are available on the beach. In the nearby area you can find a wide range of accommodation, camping sites, tavernas, shops, cafes and bars. The beach also has some hotels that offer facilities for windsurfers and their material.


Nydri is a lively little town on the east coast of Lefkada island. Along the water you'll find authentic Greek tavernas and international cuisine, while the main street is heaving with bars and late-night clubs. Just north of Nidri there's a road bridge to the Greek mainland, plus there’s a little cluster of islands just off the coast to explore.

Nydri boasts a long stretch of pebbly shoreline the water is shallow and blue, plus there are little tavernas all along the promenade. You can also rent jet-skis and canoes from the watersports centre.

Lefkada has an abundant storage of underground water which is one of the main reasons why a major part of the island is lush with greenery. The high mountains that abound in Lefkada are the sources for many a waterfalls that cascades through the mountainous terrain and finally ending up into the sea. One such gorgeous cascading waterfall is the Dimossari waterfall that can be found on the outskirts of Nydri. It ends up into a gorge which is replete with white rocks.

Agios Nikitas

Agios Nikitas is a beautiful fishing village located 13 km west of Lefkada Town. The village nestles around the bay and is built in a beautiful area full of olive groves and an enchanting landscape. The lush green and the white rocks enchant this amazing village. Agios Nikitas has been recognized as a traditional settlement, its unique architecture adorns the houses and the small hotel units that you will find around the area.

Egremni Beach

Egremni is a large, wide, sandy beach open to the western sea. It can be reached by boat from Nidri, Vasiliki or Lefkada. The beach situated 40km southwest of Lefkada Town. The long sandy beach is surrounded by impressive cliffs that create a magnificent backdrop. The white sand, shiny pebbles and crystal clear waters compose an exotic setting that attracts thousands of visitors every summer.

It is well-organized with a long row of sunbeds and umbrellas stretching to the end of the beach while you can also track some beautiful and more private spots. Despite the great arrival of tourists here, the rocky landscape offers a feeling of nice isolation. A couple of beach bars are found right on the beach. The unique beauty of Egremni is one of the most photographed landscapes in the world and it offers an ideal swimming experience. Approximately 325 steps lead down to this wonderful beach.

How to get to Lefkada

Flights to Preveza are available from the following UK airports:


Birmingham, London Gatwick, Manchester.

The majority of flights depart on Sundays. Daily flights to Corfu are available from most UK airports.

Journey time from Preveza Airport is approx 30 mins drive.


 If you have booked a private transfer or car hire at Preveza Airport, you will be met by your Perfect Blue driver or car hire representative.
